Hi! My name is Rachel Hurley, and I am a 30-year veteran of the music business. I currently own a boutique music publicity firm, Sweetheart Pub, where I work with up-and-coming Americana, Folk, and Country artists.

This collection of essays is a project I am calling The Year of Truth. My intention is to spend 2024 writing my most honest thoughts on the state of the music industry and share with you everything I think many musicians get wrong. The goal is to get canceled so I'll be forced to go get a real job and finally make some real money ;)
